Our Food
Introduction
Food is a major focus for us. We aim to provide appetising and varied
menus, whilst taking account of specific nutritional or other needs of
our residents. Our teams of experienced chefs ensure every meal is
not only delicious but reflects each individual’s likes, dislikes and
dietary needs. Good food contributes to healthy living - as they say:
“eat well - age well”.
We cater for the needs of all residents
whether it be a requirement to provide
energy dense menus providing high
calories in small portions or perhaps the
need to provide pureed meals for those
with eating difficulties. In all cases it
needs to look, smell and taste good so it is always prepared using the
freshest of ingredients sourced locally where possible. Our Chefs are
passionate about preparing varied nutritional ‘home-cooked style’
food that is much loved by our residents.
We recognise the importance of food, not just as a source of nutrition
but as a key social event too, to be enjoyed and celebrated.
Mealtimes should feel special hence we dress the dining rooms in
accordance with special days or events e.g., Christmas, Easter,
birthdays etc.
Meals are individually plated in the kitchen and delivered to the
dining room or to the residents room if preferred.
Special Diets
As we get older it’s more important than ever to
ensure we are eating a balanced diet and
getting the right amount of nutrients, to
help us both physically and mentally. On
arrival each resident will have a full
assessment of their dietary needs. This
will involve finding out what likes and dislikes they have in terms of
what food they like to eat or any allergies. In addition, it is important
for us to identify any particular dietary requirements or if there are
any weight management issues. This information gathered is entered
onto their care plan and shared with the chef.
Our Menus
Menus are changed regularly to keep dining varied and interesting
with a number of different choices available everyday. As well as
providing a balanced diet, our kitchens are always baking up goodies
and delights for our residents to enjoy.
We always take into account residents preferences and feedback from
surveys when composing the menus.
Our Kitchens and Staff
Mrs Cindy Bee, is our catering manager / Head
chef. For the last 20 years she has been providing
excellent home cooked food for our clients. Her
team includes our weekend chef called Jacky and
our kitchen assistant called Rhiann. Her afternoon
teas are enjoyed by all our residents.
Cindy is available Monday to Friday and she will
be happy to discuss any special diets or requests you may have or wish
to add to our extensive menu.
Cindy recently
received a Long
Service Certificate for
20 years of dedication
and excellence.
Congratulations!
